We were both virgins ourselves when we met and remained virgins until the day we got married. The year of our marriage was 1993. Our ages then were 29 (wife) and 34 (husband). We are still happily married despite that we entered marriage intimately inexperienced. But like everything in life it takes learning and we have been having each other to accomplish that. Looking back in retrospective during our marriage, we can attest that we have grown more intimately and are becoming more talented in that area. We do not regret for a moment having entered marriage, with both of us being virgins. On the contrary, we see virginity as a major blessing that has given us the opportunity to appreciate one another even more.

Virginity, in the whole sense of the word, played a big role for us since before deciding our marriage. By the “whole sense of the word” we mean that besides the physical part of it, there are also the personal and the spiritual bonding areas associated with virginity. In our case, before we met each other, we were open to the possibility of finding the right person who would really appreciate our virginity not sure that we were going to find that person. Eventually, we did. We were fortunate to find that person in each other. Our appreciation for each other’s virginity and for each other as a whole lead us into a materialized life commitment. Up to this day, we still do appreciate having mutually shared great personal and spiritual times prior to our marriage, including the time, of course, when we “exchanged” our vows and our virginities. We believe that these awesome times definitely set the foundation for the success of our marriage. With regards to life commitment, this one does require a lot of work on our behalf to keep it alive. But it is worth working for it no matter what it takes when you consider someone special for life.
